The health and wellbeing of our participants is of the upmost importance, so we always make sure there is an element of self-care in everything that we do.
Once a week the participants write in a gratitude journal. They take not of all of the amazing things in their life and what they have been most thankful for that week. We have found that everyone is in such a positive mindset after doing so. Once a week or more, the participants participate in a health and fitness program, whether that be swimming, playing sport or doing yoga. We have also held girls pamper days, where support staff help the participants to do their hair, makeup and nails. On these days, we also like to drink tea or hot chocolate, whilst chatting about women's health (physical and mental). In this safe space they feel as though they can speak freely. |
